The Guilderland Historical Society seeks to:
- Promote a general interest in the history of our town through writings, programs, photography and other means
- Encourage an appreciation of the Town of Guilderland's rich heritage
- Disseminate historical information
- Gather together persons interested in these goals

Frederick House News is the official newsletter of the Guilderland Historical Society. It is written by Mary Ellen Johnson and is issued 8 times a year, excluding July, August, December and January, when the society does not hold regular meetings.The newsletter is sent to all members of the society and includes feature stories on local history, historical photos and historical society news.Meetings feature a guest speaker and refreshments as well as the discussion of Guilderland Historical Society business.
The Guilderland Historical Society meets at 7:30 pm on the third Thursday of every month, except in the months mentioned above. New members are always welcome.
In June, there is a field trip to a local historic site with luncheon following.You can see some pictures of recent field trips in the photo gallery.

If you have historical photos that could be donated or allow us to copy, please contact us at the email below. We are especially interested in early photo documentation of Westmere, McKownville and surrounding areas.
